How Do I Start A Subscription?
It's as easy as 1-2-3!
1. Go to the current Previews Listing and start
adding items to your order. Enter the quantity you would like for
each item on that page, then click Add Items. They will immediately
be added into your Subscription Shopping Cart.
2. Once you have selected all of the items you wish to order for the month, Confirm
your order and update any subscription options for your account if desired. Make
sure that you have a valid credit card on file under your preferences.
3. Pay your deposit. After the due date for the current month passes your required deposit
will automatically be charged to your credit card on file. This deposit required is displayed on
all subscription ordering pages and is determined by the size and makeup of your order. For
more information on how this is figured please see below.
That's it! Your order is now ready for processing and your items will begin
to arrive usually within the second calendar month following your order. So
if you are ordering items with an JAN06 order code, your items will typically
begin to arrive in March.
Please note that once you Confirm your Subscription, any time
after that you add items to your subscription your order will
automatically be switched to unconfirmed. This is to simplify adding
items to a Subscription after it's been confirmed. You must confirm your
order again to ensure it will be processed.
You can see your Subscription Confirmation Status at the top of
every page (even in the regular store), which can take you to your
Status page where you can easily reconfirm your order.
How Does AutoFill Work?
AutoFill is a feature of Badger Subscriptions that will
automatically create a new subscription order for you based on
your previous orders. It will look at the last 12 months of your
confirmed orders and search for every title
coming out this month that you ordered the most recent issue to.
It will also reorder canceled and resolicited comics, and will
skip over titles you've decided to drop. Just login to the site
and click the AutoFill link located on the Previews Listing page
or the View Subscription page.
Please remember that AutoFill only builds your order. You will
still need to confirm the order by the due date to have
it placed. You will also need at least one previously confirmed
order with us for AutoFill to properly generate a new order. AutoFill
will not include unconfirmed subscriptions when figuring out your
order so for the best accuracy please remember to get your order
placed every month.
Can I Subscribe By Title?
Yes! A new feature we are offering is the ability to
subscribe by title. This process is automatic and can work in conjuction
with AutoFill. As you are filling out your first Previews order, series
that can have a recurring subscription setup have a checkbox under the
short listing and on their products page. Simply check this checkbox
if you want every new issue of the series automatically pulled for you
every month. When the new month goes live an unconfirmed order will
then be created for you containing all issues that month from every series
you subscribe to. Just look it over, add any new comics or items you want
to the order and confirm it! Please note in most cases you will get the basic cover
if more than one is made available. If you'd
like an alternate or incentive cover you will have to add those separately.
Not every book or item is available for this type of subscription. Also,
subscribed titles will NOT automatically remove themselves from your list when the
series ends. All title based subscriptions can be adjusted or removed from you
subscription preferences page.
What Is My WishList?
In your Subscription Preferences you will see a box where you
can enter in a comma separated list of keywords and phrases. Simply
separate each keyword or phrase with a comma, save your settings,
and you can then use the Subscription WishList link on the navbar.
The WishList page shows you all titles for the current month
that contain your term(s) either in the title or the description.
Only titles which you have not already added to your subscription
will be shown. Enter in a quantity for each additional title you
want and you will be taken back to your View Subscription page
where you can look everything over.
Once you add a book or series through the WishList, it will then
be used by the AutoFill system to ensure that the title is selected
for you every month after.
What About Variant Covers?
All orders will be filled from a random assortment of the
regular covers shipped for a book. This means if a book ships
with a 50/50 ratio of two covers, half of the orders will receive Cover
A while half will receive Cover B. Cover versions may NOT be
requested. If you want all regular covers for a book, you must pre-order
enough copies to match the ratio of the covers. So preordering 3 copies of a
book with 3 different covers in equal ratio will ensure that you
receive all regular cover versions. However if a book has two covers in a 75/25 ratio,
we cannot guarantee you will receive both covers without ordering 4 copies. This isn't
to say that we won't try to accomodate all such orders, but we can't guarantee both covers
if less than the specified cover ratio is orderd.
Variants that are separately listed in the catalog do not follow
the above rules. They may be ordered separately at the price listed. For
non-incentive variants (usually referred to as "XXXX Cover" or "Cover A/B") ordering
is guaranteed. For incentive based variants (usually marked VAR or
INCV) fulfillment is based on a number of factors including market
price as well as demand for the regular covers for the title. We are
are very pleased to say we have a 99% fulfillment rate on incentive based
variants. Still, in rare instances demand for the regular cover simply
isn't enough to fill all variant orders at the price the market
dictates for the cover. In the case we have more orders than incentive variants
available, all variants will be allocated. Variants that are canceled due to allocation
will not be charged a deposit. Update If you order
as many copies of the regular cover(s) as required to qualify for the incentive
variant, we will throw in the incentive cover(s) for free. In this case
you are guaranteed the cover and will receive priority over customers who
order in the manner above in the event of shortages or damages. Variants
ordered in this manner are separate from those ordered normally and do not
take away from regular incentive variant orders. Please contact
us if you have any questions in general or on specific variant covers.
Is There An Easier Way to View The Listing?
At the top right side of each Previews listing page you will see a
variety of options available to control the listing. You can search
by keyword(s), filter by Publisher and Category, show all back
catalog items, and show only the #1's and #0's available for the month.
All filters and searches are stackable, meaning you can search for all comics
by Dark Horse Comics with Star Wars in the title, but only #1's and including
the back catalog. Whew! You can also choose to show more items per page
and can choose compact listings which do not show the thumbnail covers
or descriptions and allow you to view more items per page than the expanded
listings.
How Do I Check On The Status Of A Subscription?
You can either select View Subscription from the subscription menu,
or click your Subscription
Confirmation status from the top of every page on the site. This
page will give you information on your current subscription, as well
as let you review past subscription information. You will
also be able to control your subscription preferences from here
including billing information and shipping options.
What If I Miss An Order Deadline?
The order deadline is located on the View Subscription
page in the header information. All orders must be
committed by that time to guarantee pricing and availability.
We understand that people sometimes forget, run out of time, or
otherwise miss the opportunity to get an order in. If you miss
the order deadline and are an existing subscription customer in
good standing, please email us within three days of the subscription
deadline and we will work to fullfill most regular subs. Please
note that most variant covers and limited edition items will be
almost impossible to guarantee after the official subscription deadline.
How Do Deposits Work?
Every pre-order and subscription requires a deposit to be placed for the order
to be processed. The deposit is automatically charged to your credit card on file
the day after orders are due and will come off your
order total when it ships. This deposit is based on and applied to the individual items
and quantities contained within your order.

So ten different comic books priced at $2.00 each effectively requires a
$5.00 deposit (25%). However if you ordered either one $20.00 graphic novel or
ten copies of the same $2.00 comic, your deposit would then be
$7.00 for those items (35%). The higher priced an item is or the more copies of a single item
ordered, the larger the deposit that will be required (up to 50%).
The one exception to the above is that all pre-orders/subscriptions have a minimum
deposit of $5 or the price of your order total, whichever is less. So your deposit for the month
would be $5 even if you were only ordering a trade for $9.99. If your entire order
is two comics for $4.00 total, then that entire $4.00 total would be due for deposit.
Items that are canceled by the publisher or Diamond will have their deposit
automatically credited to your store account. At any time you can ask for
the deposits for items canceled this way to be refunded to you instead. Items canceled within 90 days
of pre-order will have their deposits refunded to the credit card used to make the deposit.
Items canceled after 90 days of pre-order will have their deposits refunded in the form of a
check within 7-14 days.
How Are Subscriptions Billed?
At the time your order ships, it will automatically be charged
to your credit card kept on file. Your total will be for the items
contained in that shipment, minus the deposit paid for each item, along with the
shipping charges and any extras you have added on to your account like Bags and Boards.
An automatic email is sent out every week that details your exact shipment expected to
arrive as well as any books already in for non-weekly customers.
You can use PayPal to pay for your domestic subscription, however you must
still keep a credit card on file to do so. Typically on the Sunday before
your order is set to ship you will receive an email from the store
giving you the expected total for your shipment and a link that
will allow you to pay with paypal. You must have this total
paid no later than Tuesday night to guarantee the order is not
charged to your credit card. Totals not paid by the time
orders are generated will be charged to your credit card on file.
In the rare event that items from that week are damaged or shorted,
you will have a balance remaining in your store account as a result
that will be applied towards your next shipment. If you have any

How Are Subscriptions Shipped?
The frequencies which you can have books shipped are:
- Weekly
- Twice A Month
- Monthly
All books are shipped out starting on Wednesday (unless delayed until Thursday
by a Holiday). Twice a month shipments will be shipped out
starting on the second and last Wednesdays of each month. Monthly shipments
will begin going out on the last Wednesday of every month.
Shipping on subscription orders is based on the total cost of the shipped order
including deposit. Please understand that this may be different than the order you placed for
a given month. Some items from that month might have been scheduled later, others might have
delayed, and delayed or later dated items from previous months might be included. The total cost
is based on the items from all of your pre-orders that are ready to go out in that shipment.
Domestic orders over $75 qualify for free economy shipping!*
Standard shipping is done through either FedEx or USPS and if desired can be chosen in your
user preferences. Through FedEx and USPS most shipments are delivered by Saturday
of the shipping week. However, we cannot guarantee the arrival of books through standard
shipping. If you would like your books to be guaranteed to be delivered by the Friday
or Saturday of a shipping week, please contact customer support for 2nd Day and
Next Day rates.

International subscription orders are welcome. International
orders will be shipped out for exact charges at a discounted rate
and your choice of service. Please contact us for sample rates
and further information.
Books are packed with the utmost care, ensured to arrive to
you in the same condition as they left our store in. If you
want even further protection, or you just prefer all of your
comics to be bagged and boarded, you may request all of your comics
to be bagged and boarded for an additional cost of $0.10 per book. We also
offer resealable bags instead for $0.12 per resealable bag and board.
Can I Have My Store Orders Shipped With My Subscriptions?
Absolutely! As an added bonus for all domestic subscription
customers, you can have most store orders included with your next
subscription shipment. Simply select the option on the shipping
page in the checkout. Your store orders are included in the total
used to determine your shipping charge. This means that if your
store orders and subscription order come out to $75 or more combined, your order
qualifies for free economy shipping!* All store purchases sent with your subscription
are bagged and boarded free of charge, regardless of your bagged
and boarded preferences for your subscription.
Please note you must have a subscription order shipping within 30 days to have
the Ship With Subscription option be shown on the shipping screen.
International subscriptions are eligible to have store items
shipped with subscription orders and the shipping charge for the
combined order will still be based on actual international shipping costs.
How Do You Handle Damages or Errors?
If anything is missing from your shipment, please let us know
immediately so we can get the right items out to you as soon as
possible.
If any items are damaged, please let us know within 48 hours of
receiving the shipment so we can work with you to replace the
damaged or defective items.
Please understand that as part of our subscription service, we
are not in the business of providing "mint condition" books. While
we will always fill subscriptions from the best available stock we
have, usually considered VF+ to NM, we are not
guaranteed mint books from Diamond and thus
can not guarantee your books will be in mint condition. If we do not have
a copy of a book in an acceptable condition to send out, we will
simply not ship the book and email you explaining that we had no
available copies in acceptable condition. We will work to get
acceptable copies in and will ship the book out as soon as we do.
If you are simply interested in reading your comics and
don't mind what shape they arrive in, there is an option available
to have reader copies shipped to you. You will still always have
your order filled with collectible copies first if available, but if
copies in collectible condition are not available we will then
fill your subscription with a reader copy at an additional 10%
discount! By subscribing to reader copies, the only way you won't
have a book filled is if our distributor doesn't ship it to us.
How Do I Cancel My Subscription?
You may opt not to place an order at any time you choose. There
is no monthly ordering requirement and you may stop pre-ordering
with us at any time.
If you wish to cancel any outstanding orders, please contact
customer service
immediately. Please note that not all items are able to be canceled
and existing deposits will only be refunded in the form of store
credit to be used online. Items that are unable to be canceled
will still require payment and either require a credit card to remain on
file or immediate payment in full of the remaining balance.
Do You Sell Titles/Books That Are For Adults Only?
To allow our customers to pre-order Adult titles through our subscription
service, we are now requiring age verification. To gain access to pre-ordering
Adult titles, simply email Customer Service
a copy of a valid state issued Drivers License/ID (or a valid passport for
international subscribers). Once received and verified adult titles will be enabled
for pre-ordering through Badger Subscriptions. Note: The name
and address on the license/passport/ID must match the name and address on the
account being enabled for Adult titles.
We do not stock Adult items for sale through the non-subscription store. We do
however carry Mature Reader and Parental Advisory
titles in-stock from various publishers and manufacturers. If you would like
to receive adult titles form Badger Comics, pre-ordering/subscribing is
the only way to do so.
Fine Print (Terms)
By confirming your order with Badger Comics, you are unconditionally
agreeing to purchase all items pre-ordered. You are further agreeing for us to
automatically charge your credit card held on file for all deposits and shipments
as selected by your shipping frequency
(weekly, twice a month, or monthly). Pricing at the time of order is determined
by a combination of distributor pricing and our markup. Any pricing changes made after
an order is placed will be subject to changes or cancelation only at our discretion and are not covered
under any "best price matching" terms. Cancellations of pre-orders are at
the sole discretion of Badger Comics, and any or all deposits that are
agreed to be refunded at either the request of the customer or as a result of
violating this agreement will be done so in the form of store credit. Specialty items
may also incur up to a 15% restocking fee at our discretion if we feel the item will not otherwise
sell easily.
All terms in this agreement and in the FAQ are as stated and subject to change. This
agreement is not eligible to be broken by the customer at any time without approval
and the customer must accept this agreement to place a pre-order with Badger Comics.
Badger Comics reserves the right to cancel or modify all outstanding orders
at any time if it believes these terms have been violated. Badger Comics
has no control over distributors or publishers canceling or changing
the contents of the solicited items and will only accept cancellations
of such items as allowed by their distributors or publishers. Badger Comics
reserves the right to change these terms at any time.
* Economy Shipping is processed through media shipping rates
and as a result is only available for books, comics, trades, magazines, DVDs, and CDs.
Orders containing items other than these need to be shipped through standard shipping
and do not qualify for Economy Shipping. Free Shipping is only available when Economy
Shipping is selected in your subscription preferences and your shipped order total is
at least $75. If Standard Shipping is selected, orders will automatically go out
at the rates given above regardless of order total. Changes to shipping preferences at least a day before
processing will usually go into effect with your next shipment, but in some cases may
take up to 7 days to go into effect on your account. Please understand that media
shipping does take more time than any other shipping method, and as a result Badger
Comics is not responsible for the time it takes for an order shipped through economy
shipping to get to its destination. Tracking on all packages is available from the order
